Saints
Like stars in a black night, what a dark age this would be without these saints. Here are the heroes who stood against the tyrants and against the tide of political rhetoric seeking to convince us of the need for war. They are light against the dark ignorance of pollution, violence, prejudice and gluttony. They present a voice and philosophy away from a society of greed and profit at any cost to society of mutual benefit, an economics of You. You are first. Beyond the basic materialistic needs, the saints say that the real strength and beauty of life is in generous, beneficial action. This is the very opposite of the violent gospel of the psychopaths. Not only political heroes, here we include the people who helped us with disease, the World ecology, and greater understanding of the value of life. Here are the Saints of the Century.
